Editorial Policy — SafeGamingSites Review Standards & Methodology

Editorial independence
SafeGamingSites is editorially independent from every casino operator, licensing authority, affiliate network, and payment provider we cover. No operator has ever paid us to write a positive review, remove a negative review, or influence our ranking order. If they had, we wouldn’t be in business — because our readers would leave.
How we choose what to review
We only review casinos that meet all four of these criteria:
- Currently accept players from Malaysia or Singapore (verified by testing signup with an MY/SG address)
- Hold a valid, verifiable license from a recognised regulator (Curaçao GCB, PAGCOR, MGA, UKGC, Anjouan, or Kahnawake)
- Offer deposit and withdrawal in a currency an MY/SG player can practically use (MYR, SGD, USD, or major crypto)
- Have a functioning customer support channel (live chat or email with 48-hour response)
Operators that fail any of these criteria are either excluded from our review pool or, if we’ve received complaints about them, added to our public blacklist with a warning notice.
The S.Protect review methodology
Every review on this site follows our five-stage S.Protect framework:
- License verification — We look up the operator’s stated license on the regulator’s public registry, not the operator’s own documents.
- Deposit testing — We open a real account, complete KYC, and deposit real funds. We document the exact time from click-to-credit.
- Bonus review — We read the full T&C, calculate real wagering exposure (bet ×WR requirement × max cashout cap), and flag any misleading claims.
- Withdrawal test — We initiate a real withdrawal and time it end-to-end. We document delays, additional KYC requests, and any friction.
- Complaint audit — We cross-reference operator complaint history at AskGamblers, ThePOGG, casino.guru, and Curaçao’s dispute database.
Rating scale
Every operator gets a rating on a 10-point scale weighted as follows:
- License & safety (25%)
- Deposit & withdrawal speed (20%)
- Bonus fairness and T&C clarity (15%)
- Game library and provider mix (15%)
- Customer support responsiveness (10%)
- Mobile experience (10%)
- Responsible gambling tools (5%)
Operators scoring below 5/10 are moved to our warning list. Operators scoring below 3/10 are blacklisted.
Sourcing and fact-checking
Every factual claim on this site is sourced. We link to:
- Regulator public registries for license verification
- Operator’s own T&C for bonus terms
- Payment provider documentation for transaction fees and times
- Government or NGO sources for responsible-gambling and legal-status content
Where we make a claim based on our own testing (e.g. withdrawal time), we date the test and note the reviewer who performed it.
Corrections policy
We correct factual errors within 48 hours of verified notification. Every correction is logged with a dated note at the top of the affected page. Read our full corrections policy.
Author attribution
Every article on this site is attributed to a named human author with a public profile, credentials, and contact route. We do not publish anonymous content, we do not use AI to generate article bodies without human review, and we do not accept ghost-written contributions from operators or their agencies.
Sponsored content
We do not accept sponsored content, native advertising, or “advertorial” placements. If we ever do, it will be clearly marked as sponsored at the top of the page and it will not affect ranking order in our lists.
Removal requests
We do not remove negative reviews in exchange for payment. If an operator believes a review contains factual errors, they can email editorial@safegamingsites.com with specific corrections and supporting evidence. Verified errors will be corrected under our corrections policy.
Complaints about this policy
If you believe we have not followed our own editorial policy, email editorial@safegamingsites.com. Serious complaints are reviewed by Kshitij Kumawat (Editor-in-Chief) directly.
